body of an unidentified Thai man has been found buried in a shallow grave at Khao Mai Kaew, near Pattaya

body of an unidentified Thai man has been found buried in a shallow grave at Khao Mai Kaew, near Pattaya, in an area of dense bushland.Pattaya, the 20th of January 2010 [PDN]: At approximately 11:00am on Wednesday police Lieutenant Seksan Arthornkittawat (Huay Yai Police Investigator) was notified about a dead body being discovered in bushland around v, Moo 2, Pattaya. Lt. Arthornkittawat and Lieutenant Colonel Prakob Saengpring (Huay Yai Superintendent) along with Dr. Somphob Pattayakul (Banglamung Hospital) and the Sawang Boriboon Foundation went to the scene to investigate.Arriving at the scene – in the Cassava and Pineapple plantations along the number 36 highway (Krating Lai-Rayong) next to a stream flowing from Khao Kamin – officers discovered the dead body of an unidentified Thai man lying in a shallow grave. The deceased, covered by a large black plastic bag was lying in a hole approximately 1.3 meters in depth, clothed in a brown t-shirt, blue jeans and a black jacket.Further investigations revealed that the man had suffered several hard blows to his head and face, causing multiple skull fractures. His clothing was covered in blood and he was found to have tattoos all over his body. Dr. Pattayakul explained that the man was in his early 30’s, 150-155cm tall and had been dead for approximately 2 days. Officers investigated the scene, locating the charred remains of a large cardboard box on a gravel road approximately 200 meters from the grave. There was also evidence to suggest that the deceased may have been dragged through the bushland to the site of the grave.Police interrogated Mr. Fai [30], a Cambodian worker who had accidently stumbled on the scene whilst walking through the bushland. Mr. Fai explained that he had been walking through the forest when he stumbled upon an area that appeared to have recently been dug up and was covered in a significant amount of blood. He told police that he began to dig the area when he found the body of the unknown man, following which he immediately contacted police.Officers believe that the man was killed in another location, placed in the cardboard box and transported to the scene to be buried. Due to the nature and symbolisms of his tattoos police believe that the man was a resident of the area and had previously served some time in prison. It is also believed that up to 3 suspects were involved in the crime and that it is probably a gang or drug related killing.
All evidence has been gathered and taken back to the police station where police will continue to investigate the case in an attempt to bring the murders to justice.
